If you’re like most people today, you have multiple home computers connected in a wireless network. You also have lots and lots of media files—digital photos, music, and videos—stored on each of these computers. Even though all your computers are connected, it’s difficult to share or stream these media files from one PC to another; heck, it’s hard enough just figuring out what’s stored where. The solution to this conundrum is something called a home server—a separate, low-cost computer connected to your network for the sole purpose of storing and serving those media files.
