do you guys think anything is better than hostgator's shared hosting?

it provides pretty much unmetered everything (bandwidth, space, databases, emails, domains, so on and so forth) at a decent price.

i guess it all depends on if you want to go the length of their decent price, i pay monthly, i think the package i chose was the baby plan, the rate is $10 USD/monthly.

I think Namecheap offers really good hosting service and I rate it higher than Hostgator.

Hostgator used to be really good but probably they are not that good anymore.

I don't have any experience using hostgator but I heard that they are good. Please before using their service check their customer review. I personally use ASPHostPortal.com for hosting. and I just pay $1.00/mo very reliable hosting with affordable price.

Hostgator is a great choice in hosting, but it all comes down to personal needs when choosing a hosting company and even though Hostgator is amazing there is hundreds of other hosting companies what could be 200x better depending on what you are looking for in your hosting.

In my opinion, it just depends on what you're using hosting for for whether or not a company is good for you or not.

    I have been using http://www.xnynz.com/hosting/web-hosting_4.aspx?ci=83725&prog_id=456858&pl_id=456858
as my web host for over two years now and have been very impressed with them.It is cheap, but it is really professional.,.I host all my sites At the time of signup, you can pick the best hosting plan for you,
I FEEL ITS THE BEST THAN hostgator

Here are few tips for picking the right host

Uptime - What is the average uptime for the host. Good ones should be 99%+.
Disk space - How much disk space the hosting offer. Make a rough estimate how much you might need down the
    Road
Bandwidth - Are you going to host videos, files, or transfer a lot of items? Then you may wanna go for unlimited
    bandwidth.
Features - Are there any particular features your site requires. Make sure the hosting offer that.
Service - Does the host have the services you need? Services could be website transfer or whatever you need.
Support - Help is going to be needed someday, will they be there? Check out if they offer 24/7 tech support.
